About The Artist

My interest in art began at a young age.  I can't remember a time when I didn't love to draw. As I got older I would hop a train with my sister, who was an artist too, and we'd spend a 'free day' at the Art Institute of Chicago ~ one of the finest art museums in the world.  It's influence on me was great and we'd return after seeing every kind of art imaginable (and some we couldn't have ever imagined) full of ideas, inspiration and excitement!

My other influences were animals of all kinds, which I was raised with and have always had a deep interest in.  I spent much of my time hiking the woods and observing the natural world.  It seems I was destined to become a wildlife artist early on.

My beginning art was mostly fauna, animal and bird studies.  As I changed, I began to paint many subjects.  Each one holds a different feeling, but they are all special........and I love them because they are so different.

I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of still life, the power and serenity of a golf view, the bold spontaneity of painting an abstract and the awe of animals, nature and man.......and the mysteries that remain hidden within all of these things, and more.

I try to bring a certain light and atmosphere to each painting.  I hope you feel as if you could step into them and let them surround you, leaving all things behind.

I feel privileged to be an artist, it has taught me so much about life.

I reside now in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
